SNF’s experience in EOR dates back to the 70’s thanks to acquisitions DOW’s and PFIZER’s Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) divisions. These companies had developed a very large experience, especially in the USA with ranges of products such as the DOW PUSHER™ and PFIZER’s FLOPAAM and MARASEAL.

Based on this strong technical know-how, SNF has grown internally by developping continuously for the last 30 years its knowledge base in the field of EOR. As a result, in 1996, SNF constructed a 60,000 t/y PAM production plant in China to serve the Chinese water treatment and EOR markets.


SNF has the largest experience in polymer flooding. SNF is currently the largest supplier of polymers for EOR to Chinese oil fields, including Daqing and Shengli. Furthermore, SNF has several on-going pilots in Brazil, Venezuela and Indonesia. SNF is in a unique position to take a leading role in the polymer flooding world market.
